WELCOME!
I am excited that you are here, I thank the Holy Spirit for guiding you to this blog(Thumbs up Holy Spirit). I guess you want to know what this blog is all about and who I am.
My inspiration to start this blog started about eight (8) years ago, yes! 8 years, you read right. About that time I was married for barely a year and soon realized that living with my parents was way different from living as a married woman. I was responsible for managing my own home. I mean, I was responsible for cooking, cleaning, deciding what we ate etc. I decided what we ate (because when you ask my husband he would say he would eat whatever you would eat aaargh!)
I found myself doing some research about home management tips, recipes, balancing work-family-church, etc. I came across lots of information but with each passing experience I started writing my own thoughts about marriage, life, ministry, work, etc and started sharing these with friends and they loved it soo much that I started a WhatsApp group called Virtuous Wives then later decided to start a blog which I never got around to do.
Because the following year nothing prepared me for what was to happen to our family. My husband was very sick, he was paralyzed (He is better now and he walks! Hallelujah!)
The stress of managing the home, taking care of him, handling our finances, church and making all the major decisions whilst working full time and enduring the silent treatment of those I thought were friends and some members of our families and yet doing my very best to maintain a smiling face and going about everything as if all was well so as to not discourage him made me realize that, as women, we are always and in everything, we do in the pursuit of virtuousness.
I believe every woman aspires to be like the Proverbs 31 woman who is trusted and confidently relied upon through every situation, the virtuous woman who is unfazed and does her very best to keep and manage her home.
So after eight years of running around the idea of starting a blog partly due to fear of its failure, viola! Here we are! I have always had a passion for writing since I was a young girl. I have been writing short stories on and off for my friends to read since junior high school. I wrote plays for my church’s children’s and youth ministries.
My name is Mateko Awo Nhyirah-Kwateng, a child of the most High God. I am a childrens’ ministry teacher and also involved in the womens’ ministry. I also work full time as an HR professional.
Here on the “VerGrity” blog where “In pursuit of virtuousness” is our mission, I also cover faith topics, marriage, share some very yummy, healthy recipes, various career topics, home management tips, etc.
Thank you and enjoy!
